Different aluminum uses
Aluminum is the second most used metal after steel, largely because it is so versatile. Aluminum is used in a great number of household items as well as in industrial equipment. Aluminum is remarkable for the metal's low density and for its ability to resist corrosion due to the phenomenon of passivation. Far from being rare, aluminum is in fact the third most common element in the Earth's crust, and it is the most common metallic element on Earth. In a pure form, aluminum is silvery white and extremely lightweight. Because of its light weight and relatively strong structure it can be made into very thin aluminum wire which is then re-enforced by steel and iron made into power lines. Aluminum is used in different industries like
- Motors for cars
- Frames on bikes
- Brake handles
- Tools
- Conductors for electricity
- Aluminum used for making planes.
Because of wide availability of aluminum, it is not expensive and thus commonly used. One of the most common end uses of aluminum is packaging, including drink cans, foil wrapping, bottle tops and foil containers. So aluminum has got so many uses which make it commonly used metal.
